This clearly shows Michael Carrick will be leaving United this summer

In an usual move by players playing in their last home games for their club, the United midfielder was accompanied to the pitch with his children as United line out for their match against Bournemouth.

His kids Jacey and Louise Carrick were mascots for the game, in a move that Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra followed while about to play their last game for United at Old Trafford.

Michael Carrick's contract expires this summer, and the club are yet to offer him a new contract. The 34 year old is the second longest serving player in the squad.

He joined United from Tottenham in 2006 and has enjoyed a highly successful playing career at United.

He won a Champions League, World Club cup, five Premier League titles, one League Cup and five community shields.

He can add the FA Cup which is the only club medal lacking on his medal table if United defeat Crystal Palace on Sunday in the FA Cup final.

It will be sad to let the United hierarchy let a faithful and experienced player like Carrick leave like that. His experience is still much needed in the team.

His future will  mainly depend on who  manages United next season.
