Van Gaal denies striker hunt

United may not be signing a striker this transfer window, after manager Van Gaal admits he doesn’t know if he’ll sign a striker.

It was generally believed that Van Gaal was preparing a surprise striker signing and he Dutch man was quoted as saying the signing would be a surprise one and not the one popularly written about in the media.

But after United’s 3 – 1 victory over the San Jose Earthquakes on the tour of USA, Van Gaal has denied saying that. In his words ‘‘I don’t know I want to buy a striker. I have read in the media the striker is the surprise. No that’s not what I said.’’

Manchester United seem to be enjoying a perfect transfer window, with the club making the capture of four important players to fill into key positions where the team struggled last season.
