Michael Owen predicts Manchester United Vs Leicester match

The former Manchester United striker is tipping United to win on Sunday, when both teams meet.

Leicester could be crowned champions if they defeat United at Old Trafford.

While Owen is predicting a Manchester United victory, he is also hopping the Foxes can prove him wrong by springing a surprise.

The Liverpool legend wrote on his Colossus Bets blog:

"...The Foxes can seal the biggest, and most unlikely, footballing upset in recent history with a win at Old Trafford.

"However, they may have to wait a while longer to be crowned champions as I think Utd, who have really found their form in the last fortnight with four straight victories, could sneak this 2-1.

The Englishman however is still looking out for Leicester surprise.

"I will be more than happy to be proved wrong if Leicester win, though. What a story!"

What are your predictions for the game?

I am also going for a 2-1 United victory. Martial or Rashford to get one of the United goals.

Sky Sports pundit predicts Manchester United Vs Leicester clash

Paul Merson thinks Manchester United will prolong Leicester City's official pronouncement as Champions by defeating the Foxes at Old Trafford this Sunday.

Leicester City travel to Old Trafford looking for the last three points that will confirm them as Premier League winners.

Van Gaal, and some players in the United squad have spoken of their desire to see Leicester win the league, but not at Old Trafford.

Paul thinks United will play for that pride, and prevent the Foxes from celebrating as Champions at Old Trafford.

"If you're a Manchester United fan you don't want Leicester winning the Premier League on Sunday, that would be the last thing you need.
If you're the manager of Manchester United and that happens you're in severe trouble." He told Sky Sports.

"The story of winning it is unreal, but to put the icing on the cake and go and win it at one of the biggest football clubs in the world?

"But I don't think it will happen, though, and Manchester United will win this game.

"I was very impressed with them in the first half of the FA Cup semi-final, and with Wayne Rooney playing a bit deeper they're a better team."

United also have the top four to contend for and that will provide extra motivation for the United players.

Paul finally predicts a 2-1 United victory.

Oops: Van Gaal shouldn't have said this !!!

The Manchester United manager claims some of the current players in his squad are not used to used to being champions. He said this ahead of Sunday's clash with table toppers Leicester City.

The Dutchman went further to name players who he thinks haven't won championships.

"The players who are now playing, they are,not used to being champions." says Van Gaal via Mirror

"I don’t think Matteo Darmian is used to being a champion and David De Gea was never champion, so I don’t agree with the way you make the question."

The United manager should get his facts right and correct before making highly controversial statement like this.

Putting things straight, De Gea was a solid member of the United squad that won the League in 2013.

Sir Alex last league winning side. The Spanish goalkeeper made 28 League appearances that season, playing a vital role in winning the league.

While at Atletico, De Gea won the Europa League and Super Cup. He has  also won a number of age group competition with Spain at various level.

Van Gaal rarely praise De Gea, despite his match saving heroics on many occasions. He has a way of making his wonderful performances look ordinary.

Van Gaal coming out to say his players are not championship materials is unacceptable.

He sanctioned the purchase of Darmian. He shouldn't have, if he knew he wasn't a championship material.

How many players in the current Leicester team are champions? Champion are made, they aren't born.

How many players have he made champions at United despite spending over £200m in two seasons.

He further complicated issues by saying Wayne Rooney and Michael Carrick have maybe been champions maybe more than once.

"Memphis Depay was a champion last year [with PSV Eindhoven] so not many players...Rooney, Carrick, they have been the champions once, or maybe more than once.''

These statement appears derogatory to faithful servants of the club that have won the League title five times and a champions League each.

Statements like these won't help the morale of the players.

This is one of the many things Van Gaal, has done this season that is  demoralising.

Let this be known that clubs make much more money from the competition. Clubs make money from gate fees, T.V rights, and other ways.

He is the agent of José Mourinho, Cristiano Ronaldo, James Rodriguez, David De Gea, Renato Sanches and a host of other top players and coaches.

He has had a nice working relationship with United, helping them secure the services of Radamel Falcao and Angel Di Maria two seasons ago.

Manchester Evening News reported that the Portuguese arrived in Manchester on Tuesday night. He met with Salford City player and owner ahead of their Northern Premier League Play Off semifinal against Ashton United on Tuesday evening.

However other than his meeting with the Salford team, there have been rumors of the Portuguese trying to broker other moves for his agents.

The Benfica midfielder has been linked to United over the last few months, but news of a move has gathered much momentum over the last days.

A fee in the region if €60m has been quoted for the player.

Benfica president has reportedly travel to England to discuss the move.

Mendes presence in Manchester could also be to aid the move.

3. Manuel Pellegrini's move to Valencia

According to the Express, this was the main reason why Mendes was in Manchester.

The Manchester City manager would be replaced by Pep Guardiola in the summer, and the City boss is the favorite to take over at Garry Neville's former club Valencia.

The Chilean is open to a move back to Spain and that may be one of the reason for Mendes visit.

Mendes is a friend of Valencia's owner, Peter Lim, who is also the co-owner  Salford City FC.

The pair were pictured together raising the question of a possible move to Valencia for Pellegrini.

Insider hints United want to keep Van Gaal for next season

Sky Sports and former MUTV presenter Hayley McQueen has opened up that Manchester United are planning to keep Van Gaal as manager heading into next season.

The Dutchman has come under intense pressure from the fans and media about the way he has handled the team.

United are facing the reality of missing out of champions League football for the second time in three years.

The team will play in the finals of the FA Cup and some think winning the FA Cup could be  redemptive for Van Gaal.

In an exclusive interview with FootballFanCast, Hayley said:

"If some of the papers are to be believed this deal with Jose Mourinho is already done and dusted.

"I worked at the end of the season awards actually and having good relationships with people at the club, my understanding is that they’re all set for Van Gaal to take charge of the team next season. He’s even had a massive hand in the pre-season.

"Ed Woodward and the guys sat down and mapped out the whole pre-season plan – where they would train, where they would travel to – and Louis van Gaal has come in and actually changed a lot of what they're doing and planning. So obviously they have him in mind.

"He has a very good relationship with Ed Woodward and I think that’s why he’s been in the job as long as he has.

"I think he is fairly confident himself of winning the FA Cup and of his own future."

Hayley was a former presenter with MUTV, and currently still work with the club as a presenter on some occasions. Her father Gordon is also a former United player.

United can win the FA Cup and still stand a chance of making the top four. If both happen within the next few weeks, then United board will sure be divided on whether to keep the Dutchman for next season or not.

One other big plus for Van Gaal is the number of youngsters he has given first team opportunities.

It remains to be seen what decision the board will arrive at when the season closes.

AS Roma interested in United midfielder

AS Roma are reportedly interested in a summer move for Manchester United Belgian midfielder Maroune Fellaini.

The midfielder was reportedly offered to the Giallorossi last summer, but a move didn't materialize.

Roma, according to Italian media outfit La Gazzetta dello Sport may be willing to offer £15m for the big Belgian.

His visit to Italy was not his first as the player have been constantly visiting.

And on Monday he visited his national teammate Radja Nainggolan as well as Miralem Pjanic and Salih Ucan.

AS Roma need a central midfielder after it appears that  Seydou Keita is on his way out of the club and Daniele De Rossi is no longer a regular starter in the team.

Roma will most likely seek a loan move for the player first before trying to make the move permanent.

What if United play with this two men forward in a 4-4-2 formation?

This season has been a season of discovery at Old Trafford. Several youngsters have shown that they can hold their own on the biggest stage and against the biggest opponent.

Two players that have highly distinguished themselves among the newcomers in the first team are Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.

Both are young, strong, thickish, skilful and most importantly have an eye for goal.

Martial was a surprise signing that has taken the United fans by surprise.

Since his goal scoring debut against Liverpool to his last game against Everton, the Frenchman has oozed life and confidence into the United's attack. 14 goals and seven assist in your debut season in a club like United at 20 is not a fluke.

But the question mark  on Martial is: where is his most effective position? As a winger or a striker?

He's been deployed as a winger more frequently by Van Gaal, hence he has scored more goals from the flanks than playing as a central striker.

The answer to that question will be well explained by time.

The player himself has however come out to say he is more of a striker than a winger.

Rashford is another star that was delivered at United this season.

Since making his goal scoring debut in the Europa League in February, the youngster followed that up with breathtaking performances against Arsenal and City.

He has ever since delivered above average performances despite playing a lot of games in a short while.

The rise of this duo must have promoted Wayne Rooney to concede that his future with United lies in the midfield.

They are both young, pacey, strong and developing good goal scorers. And will give the United skipper a decent competition for playing time, if he(Rooney) still decides to continue as a striker.

United traditionally over the years have been built on a two striker system.

Remember they days of Wayne Rooney and Carlos Tevez, Wayne Rooney and Ruud van Nistelrooy, Van Persie and Wayne Rooney, Andy Cole and Dwight York, and a Long list of successful striking partners that have epitomized United attacking football over the last two decades.

The presence of these two young forward raises the possibility of partnering them upfront, and see if that would work.

It most likely will.

With the right tutelage, both will mature to become 20 or 25 goals a season striker for United.

If they can be backed with strong attacking presence and services from the wings, their combination looks promising.

Assuming Memphis Depay was performing as projected and expected, the trio can lead United's attack the way young C.Ronaldo, Wayne Rooney, Carlos Tevez the experienced Ryan Giggs from the attacking quadruplet that conquered Europe and the world in 2008.

Testing these two upfront would be a good experiment for Van Gaal or United's next manager.

What do you think?

Do you see this partnership working?

Jamie Redknapp warns Leicester City on Old Trafford visit

The Sky Sports pundit has sounded a note of warning to the title favorites that Old Trafford is not an easy ground to get three points irrespective of United's form.

Jamie thinks United are turning the corner and Leicester have a daunting task travelling to Old Trafford.

The foxes can be confirmed champions if they can defeat United at Old Trafford, while Van Gaal's men will have the three points in focus to boost their faint top four hopes.

With both Arsenal and City still having to face each other, United can still make the top four if they win all their games starting with the Foxes.

"That’s a tough game. He said on Sky Sports.

"You feel like United are turning the corner. They have a lot of good players – Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford.

"They’re at home and it’s always daunting going to Old Trafford no matter what state of affairs you’re in, let alone when you’re going to for the title."

Both sides cancelled each other out when they played at the King Power Stadium, drawing 1-1.

A draw on Sunday will dent United's top four hopes but still retain Leicester in pole position for the title after Tottenham's 1-1 draw with West Brom on Monday.

Man United seriously considering another manager as Van Gaal's replacement: Not Mourinho

Manchester United are lately considering PSG manager Laurent Blanc as the man to replace Van Gaal in the summer.

According to the Sun, the Frenchman is gathering support among the United board members and being a former United player, he seem to have an edge in that regard compared to Mourinho.

One of the biggest worry for United is the placement of Ryan Giggs in the new United set up.

José Mourinho will most likely come with his entire back room staffs which may cause Giggs to fizzle out of things.

But with Laurent Blanc, the Welshman can still be the assistant which would be his last grooming stage to be the next United boss.

Blanc PSG team have won the double in France, winning the League and the Cup titles. PSG's recent dissatisfaction with the Frenchman have been in the Champions League where the team have failed to go beyond the quarterfinals over the last four  seasons.

Meet Man United's in house D.J: Ashley Young, and what Van Gaal told him about his music selection

Manchester United's Disk Jockey Ashley Young has revealed that Van Gaal in his arrival at the club told him as the team's D.J to play ' House and funky house' music.

The Manchester United winger has opened up that he took over from former Unites left back Patrice Evra as the team's D.J but got an order for a new playlist when Van Gaal arrived.

In an interview with Footballers Lives via The Sun, he said:

"I’m the dressing room DJ. Patrice Evra was the last one, every time he wasn’t playing, or he was injured, I’d take over and do a mix and it went down quite well. There was no initiation. I just put my iPod on and was like ‘right, I’m taking over."

"There are quite a lot of songs I’ll put on that everyone will listen to. But the manager, when he first came in, shouted Darren Fletcher over and said ‘I don’t like this’. So we had to change it!

"I thought ‘what will everyone listen to?’ House and funky house.

"When I put on a good tune there are some that get up and dance to it — in their own way.

"People dance about and get themselves prepared for the game. Music can be uplifting and motivate you."

Yes, it's great to know the lads are having a great time with themselves music wise.

Fans only hope this would translate into good performance with the United's last five games of the season.

Harry Redknapp claims this player wouldn't make the United's first team years ago

The former Tottenham boss reckons United have got some amazing youngster that may mature into world class players.

He has however casted doubts over the possibility of Jesse Lingard making the United first team years ago.

Lingard has benefited from the slum of players like Memphis Depay to establish himself as a regular in the United squad this season.

"Marcus Rashford is clearly an exceptional talent, and I really hope he goes on to fulfil his potential." Redknapp wrote in the telegraph.

"Anthony Martial is a good young player too, but he's entitled to be half-decent considering how much United spent on him!

"But then what have you got behind that? Jesse Lingard? Again, a good player, but we're not talking about the next David Beckham or Ryan Giggs here are we?
