Mourinho to earn huge if he leads United to Champions League glory

The new Manchester United manager will earn up to £15.25m if he wins the UEFA Champions League with United.

The Portuguese was confirmed on Friday as the Van Gaal's replacement.

United have lacked top class silverware since Sir Alex Ferguson retired, and the FA Cup Van Gaal won this season is United's only trophy since Fergie's retirement three years ago.

According to reports the Portuguese is on a £10m per year contract with United, and Portuguese media outlet  Correio De Manha says Mourinho will earn £15.25m in bonuses if he wins the Champions League.

United won't be competing in the Champions League next season, and one of José's first assignment next season is to get the team back into the competition.
