The striker has given a hint he may not be joining United this summer.
The 34 year old has been linked with United over the past few weeks, and the appointment of José Mourinho makes an Old Trafford switch more likely for the striker.
The former PSG player is a free agent and a move to Mourinho's United looked on the card until last week, when his agent dispelled news of a move to United.
His agent claims the player's next move will be one that will come as a surprise. If that is anything to go by, Ibra might have unveiled the surprise.
Speaking to fans in Sweden ahead of their friendly match with Slovenia, he talked about joining his former team Malmo, and promised fans to expect him.
"I love Malmö and I wish I could play today. I apologise for that, but I will, I will. Just wait for me." He said.
Ibrahimovic stated his professional career at Malmo, where he signed his first contract in 1996, as youth player. He made made his senior debut fro the team in 1999, and left for Ajax in 2001.
It remains to be seen where the striker will play next season, but United will be better with a striker if Ibrahimovic's quality in the team. Lot of pundit and former players including Roy Keane have given their yes to United moving for the player, but it all lies with José Mourinho.
