Renato Sanches confirms and opens up on why he rejected Man United

Manchester United lost out in the race to sign the Portuguese in a move that angered a lot of United fans, who thought vice chairman Ed. Woodward or the club hierarchy were not doing their jobs well.

United have been scouting the Portuguese teenager star since January, and it came as a shock to many when Bayern announced his signing, as it appears they were never in the race for the player.

Sanches has however opened up that United did make a bid for him, but he decided to move to Bayern as he think he would be better placed to win titles with the German Champions than United.

"Manchester United made an offer, “ I think it was well known. But I had other offers as well." Sanches said.

"I chose Bayern Munich because it’s a great club. They have a 65,000 seater  stadium and an atmosphere similar to Benfica. I’ll win titles."
