What if Van Gaal swap these two players?

If Manchester United first game against Tottenham is an introduction to Van Gaal’s formation and tactics this season, then some players in the United team may likely be underutilized.   Van Gaal was widely reported to be planning to adopt a 4- 3-3 formation for United this season.

This formation though not entirely strange to Manchester United fans, is relatively new when compared to the traditional 4-4-2 that made United one of the most successful team in the world under the era of Sir Alex Ferguson. This formation relied so much on wingers. Hence United were known to have raised some of the greatest wingers in world football. From C. Ronaldo, Ryan Giggs, David Beckham, Eric Cantona and the list is almost endless.  The formation required pace, speed and allowed quick transition from defence to attack. Hence United was then known as a predator team that can score anytime.

This summer United signed a young winger with amazing potential, in Memphis Depay. The

Barcelona forward request transfer amid United speculation

There may be light at the end of the tunnel for United in their quest to sign Pedro. The Barcelona forward have been linked to United almost all through this transfer window but the speculation became more intense after the sale of Di Maria.
The Spaniard has reportedly been frustrated at the lack of first team football, as the trio of Messi, Neymar and Suarez are the most preferred.
The winger was widely expected to start the UEFA super cup, after Barcelona confirmed Neymar’s injury, but youngster Rafinha starts ahead of the 28 year old forward.
Barcelona’s technical secretary have confirmed that the winger has asked for a transfer.
‘‘Pedro asked us for a transfer’’ he said. ‘‘We are not going to accept less than €30m for him. It’s not negotiable.’’
That may come as good news for United.

Manchester United news summary: Pedro warned against joining United, possibility of De Gea staying, new away jersey released (photos)…..

Barcelona legend Hristo  Stoichkov has advised Pedro not to join United. In what looked like a direct attack at Van Gaal, stoichkov described United Coach Van Gaal as a destroyer and mediocre.  United are reportedly keen on signing the Barcelona forward as a replacement for departed Di Maria. Van Gaal won two la liga titles, the Copa Del Rey and the UEFA super cup during his reign as Barcelona coach between 1997 and 2000.

‘‘If he goes there he would no longer be a footballer. He (Van Gaal) is destroying all the players because he is so mediocre, players have left because of him. He destroys clubs, he did it with Barcelona, and after they take years to build.’’
The Bulgarian was also not impressed with United’s performance in their opening day victory over

Is Pedro United’s solution?

Though United won their first game of the season against Tottenham, the team looked unconvincing, and lacks perfect balance and pattern. United have been active during this transfer window bringing in not least than five players. Despite these signings it is still amazing that Van Gaal still has a lot to fix in the team. A lot of fans still expect to see one or two signings.
One of such signing that has been constantly linked with a move to United is Barcelona forward Pedro. Speculations are that he would be a replacement to departed record signing Di Mara. A lot has been speculated about the move, some favouring an announcement after the UEFA Super Cup.
But with the news that Neymar is injured and expected to be out for about two weeks, that saga may take some time before coming to an end.  A lot of fans and pundit including Arsenal Legend Henry believes the Spaniard would be a good purchase for United.
An in-depth look at United victory over Tottenham clearly reveals some basic problem van Gaal must solve.

Problems Van Gaal must solve

      1.     Who is United number one goalkeeper?
It a little awkward that a team like United will be stating a season without knowing its first choice keeper. As it stands De Gea’s United future remains uncertain.   New signing Romero did a fantastic and match winning job against Tottenham on Saturday, and such performance would be a perfect starting ground for a good season and his era. But with De Gea still in the picture, nothing is certain. And with Valdes still around, though Van Gaal says he’s out of his plan, his presence may not be too
