United legend urges Memphis Depay not to give up after FA Cup final snub

Manchester United legend Dwight Yorke believes it's a huge disappointment for the Dutch star to be left out of the sqaud that travelled to Wembley for the FA Cup finals.

He has however urged the winger to see his first season as part of the learning process at Old Trafford, and hopes he will come back next season stronger.

"It's a bit of a shame really, because when he came he came with a big reputation. Coming out of Dutch football he'd done really well and scored a lot of goals, and he got off to the perfect start at Manchester United," he told the Daily Star.

Depay joined United after helping his Dutch side PSV to the Dutch title, with 22 goals and a number of spectacular performances. Which included his expertise at free kicks. But since joining United, Depay has struggled for form and consistency, and has scored only two league goals for United this season.

"Unfortunately it hasn't worked out that way for him, and he's found it very difficult.

"He's still a young man, he's only 22. Hopefully this will be a learning curve, and he'll come back next year stronger and fitter and raring to go.

"But this will be a massive disappointment for, him, not being in the squad for Wembley."

Yes, it's a huge disappointment but we hope it is one Depay will learn from and comeback stronger next season.
