Man United 3-1 Bournemouth: Another reason why Van Gaal should be sacked

The Manchester United manager repeated his media howler at the end United's last match of the season.

He reiterated his opinion that the expectations at Manchester United is too high.
United finished the season fifth on the Premier League table, a position lower than they did in his first season. The team was also knocked out of both the Champions League and the Europa League.

The team will face Crystal Palace on Sunday in the FA Cup final, and winning that would serve as damage limitation for the Dutchman.

"Our aim in the first year - and also the second and the third - is the Champions League," He told the BBC after the 3-1 win over Bournemouth.

"It is the highest level and a club like Manchester United has to play at that level, but there are more clubs that want to play at that level and you have seen that.
"The expectation is very high. The fans are expecting a lot but I think these expectations are much too high." He added.

I think this is highly disrespectful of Van Gaal on the United fans and the club as a whole.

The fact that more clubs want to play at the highest level doesn't mean United should be the team that will pave way for the rise of these teams.

Van Gaal should know this is Manchester United.  The 3rd richest club in the world. Expectations are never "far too high".

Coming out to say this after he spent over £230m in two seasons makes it highly unacceptable.
The brand of football is totally unacceptable, results are the worse we've seen in a while, the team is in a state of  retrogression: at least judging by the team's finishing positions in his two seasons in charge.

If making the top four is an expectation too high for United fans, if contending for the title is an expectation too high for a club like Manchester United, then Van Gaal has shown he and the club don't the same ambition.

Guess it's time to say Bye.
