The former United midfielder thinks the team should give Memphis Depay the benefit of another season.
Depay has been a shadow of what United fans expected. And with the team struggling, it is only normal for him to experience immense criticism.
"You give him another year, he's a young lad you have to remember." Scholes said via the Sun.
"He's had moments of being very good in games and moments of being shocking really.
"I think he's another one who has to stay fit and give him one, possibly two, more years.
"He's a young lad and there's definitely a talent there. He did great in Holland. He did great for Holland. This league is a lot tougher but I think there is potential there with him.
"If you get the ball to him more often than this team seems to do then maybe there will be a player in him."
