The Manchester United legend has made and submitted his assessment of United this season.
The team have endured a frustrating season, one in which manager Van Gaal was 'media sacked' more than once.
United ended the season in fifth position on the Premier League table, outside the Champions League qualification spots. It means Unites will not be in
United were also knocked out of both the Champions League and UEFA Cup.
United are through to the FA Cup finals, where they face Crystal Palace on Sunday.
The former United goalkeeper and father of current league winning Leicester goalkeeper is highly critical of the team and believes the team has been dragged into the wrong direction.
“Manchester United – a club that I love and have followed since I was a kid – have bored me to death this season.
"We are one of those clubs that has been dragged in completely the wrong direction. He told Sky Sports.
"We never used to play football the way we play now. We never played for 1-0 and then defend. We always went for the second goal and the third. All the hard work that Sir Alex put in to recover what was there from Sir Matt Busby has been undone in a very short period of time.
"I, as a fan, want to be winning but to entertain equally as much too. I want exciting players."
Fair honest criticism from someone who has seen it all and won it all with United.
Winning the FA Cup on Sunday will only serve as damage limitation for United, in what has been a terrible season for United by the club's standard.
