Manchester United 3-1 Bournemouth: Player ratings

Manchester United rounded off the season with a close to perfect performance against the Cherries.

The game started on a dull note , but Wayne Rooney first half goal gave United the lead and confidence heading into the break.

United started the second half brightly, as Marcus Rashford scored another goal, before Ashley Young sealed things up for United.

That wasn't all as Chris Smalling scored an own goal on the 92nd minute to make sure De Gea didn't win and share the golden glove award with Petr Cech.

Here's a ratings of the United players on a scale of 0-10.

David De Gea: 6

He didn't have much to do as Bournemouth hardly threatened. Made a couple of saves, but would be highly disappointed to have conceded late on. An own goal makes it worse.

Antonio Valencia: 6.5

Solid performance from the Ecuadorian. Combined well with Lingard. Was at the end of a number of brilliant Wayne Rooney long passes. Used his pace well. Had a wonderful shot from about 35 yards saved by the Bournemouth keeper.

Chris Smalling: 6

Solid performance, even though Bournemouth lacked attacking presence, scored the last United goal of the season against his own goal, that denied De Gea the golden gloves.

Daley Blind:6.5

Calm and composed as usual. He was neat and tidy, when tested with a number of defensive duties. His passing was also a beauty to watch.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson: 6

Another impressive showing from the Englishman. Combined well with Martial on the left side of the pitch. Still needs to improve on his crosses.

Micheal Carrick: 7

Fans are not sure if that was his last performance for United. Provided stability to the midfield. Allowing Mata and Rooney time and space to roam forward.

Could have been on the score sheet. Unlucky with his 25 yard shot that hit the bar, and a first half ball he could have make contact with to score. An all round brilliant performance.

Juan Mata: 6.5

Played a vital role in United's first goal. He looked dangerous and combined well with the United forwards.

Wayne Rooney: 8.5

A man of the match performance from the United skipper. He has found a new life in the United midfield, and 30-50 yard passes are now his trademarks. Scored one, and assisted another.

Anthony Martial: 7

He is no doubt United's signing of the season. Played a brilliant one-two with Mata in the build up to United's first goal which he assisted.

Jesse Lingard: 6

He looked sharp and worked hard. Combined well with Valencia.

Marcus Rashford: 7

Another applaudable showing from the 18 year old, a day after he was selected into the England provisional team to the European Championship.

His wonderful dummy in the box created the space and opportunity for Wayne Rooney's opener.  He scored his goal midway into the second half.

Substitutes

Ander Herrera: 5

Came on for Mata, but didn't do anything special. Provided stability to the midfield.

Memphis Depay: 4

Another cameo showing fron the Dutchman. Had one or two occasions where he should have done better.

Ashley Young: 6

In his usual strange substitution, Van Gaal brought him on for Rashford in a striking position. He however repaid Van Gaal faith, by getting United's last goal of the game, from a trademark Wayne Rooney long pass.
