Sky Sports Spanish expert Guillem Balague has said that Manchester United refused to sign Atletico Madrid midfielder Saul Niguez when he was offered to them, about eighteen months ago.
The 21 year old has been in superb form for his team this season, scoring nine goals and having four assists to his credit.
His wonderfully taken goal against Bayern Munich in the first leg of their Champions League semifinal match took him to another level.
Balague however told Sky Sports La Liga weekly podcast that United and Everton had the opportunity of signing the player.
"Saul was offered to Everton when he was 18, and they said no, and he was offered to Manchester United a year-and-a-half ago and United decided not to go for him." He revealed.
The player has been linked with a move to United after his Champions League exploits, but Barcelona have the first choice of signing the player.
