Souness doesn't believe that Ibrahimovic's  arrival at United will hinder the progress of youngsters like Martial and Rashford that has shown great promise for United this season.

"I don't think it's about blocking the development. He would be your main striker and you would fill in around him.

"United are not a club that can wait for people to become players. They have to have the finished article now and have to have success now so for me, that would be secondary.

"It's about getting someone on the pitch that can fire the supporters' imagination and get the team playing again with the kind of arrogance, if you like, that I've always associated with Man United."

The player himself says he knows where he would be playing next season, though he hasn't let it out.

The anticipated arrival of José Mourinho at United could turn things in United's favour with regards to signing the former Barcelona and Inter Milan striker.
