Juan Mata might not have scored a goal in United's 3-0 victory over Stoke, but his all round performance was great.
The Spaniard started United's last two games in his favorite number 10 position and has been impressive, and manager Van Gaal has said it will be difficult to bench him with his current form.
“He participated in all three goals, that’s also what I like to see. When he’s playing how he is playing now, then the chance is big (To start more often).
"Every player has to do it every week, even my captain has to do that because everyone has forgotten that he was a substitute against Stoke away. It’s always the same with me, you have to prove it in every game and training session, and then you play.
"But when Mata plays like this, I cannot say to him ‘go to the bench’." Van told MUTV after the Stoke victory.
Juan Mata will most likely start United's next match, when the Reds travel to face his former team Chelsea.
