Manchester United youngster could make surprise entry into England's Euro squad

Manchester United winger Jesse Lingard stands a small chance of making the England squad to the European Championship next month.

The 22 year old has been a constant figure for United this season, and has had his moments though he still has a lot to improve on.

According to the Mirror, injury to Arsenal's Danny Welbeck means Lingard may come under consideration.

Arsenal confirmed on Wednesday that Welbeck will be out for nine months, ruling him out of the competition.

According to the report Roy Hodgson was at Upton Park to have a closer look at the Englishman when United played West Ham on Tuesday.

Lingard however didn't start the game, but came on as a late substitute, and played just about seven minutes.

The England manager will name his squad on Monday, after the last round of matches in the Premier League.
