The agent of Manchester United's defender Guillermo Varela will be flying into England to help smoothen his loan move to Genoa, according to IBT times.
There have been reports that Van Gaal blocked the move on the basis that United are currently short of wingbacks.
Varela's agent had been previously spotted with Genoa's president and their discussion was most likely going to be about a move for the young defender.
Reports of a six months loan move has been circulating but the probability of Van Gaal sanctioning the move remains low.
Injuries to Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Antonio Valencia, Ashley Young and Phil Jones means United currently have only few defenders available and sending the Italian out on loan looks difficult.
It is believed that his agent wants to convince Van Gaal that a loan move would be beneficial for his client's development.
