Manchester United meet Guardiola to make move closer

Top French media outlets including L'Equipe and France football are reporting that top Manchester United officials met with the outgoing Bayern manager in Paris last week, about a move to the Theatre of Dreams.

Pep Guardiola has made his intention to move to the Premier League clear, and this is believed to have pushed top English clubs especially both Manchester clubs and Chelsea to move for the Spanish tactician.

While the media favors Guardiola moving to Manchester City, close sources to the Spaniard believes he wants a move to United because of the club's rich history and pedigree.

Current United manager Van Gaal's tenure at United have been characterized by immense pressure and criticism from fans and former players, and the Dutchman has hinted that he could fire himself as United manager before the club fires him. But the United board appears reluctant in changing their manager.

The high profile secret meeting is reported to have taken place at the the swanky Le Bristol Paris.
