Alan Shearer hails 'tremendous' Rooney after second fantastic Euro performance

The former England striker has praised the England captain for another great performance in England's 2-1 win over Wales.

The united captain starting in the midfield, pulled the strings one again, as the Three Lions came from behind to defeat a Gareth Bale inspired Wales.

Wayne Rooney's game by numbers against Wales:
91% pass accuracy
10 crosses
5 chances created
4 take-ons
3 shots

Speaking to the BBC after the game, the firmer England captain said:

"Wayne Rooney is the only England player who has been tremendous in both games.

"He was man of the match in the first game, and he won't be far away in this game too. He wanted to dictate the play, grab the game by the scruff of the neck and played very well."

Great to know that Rooney is proving critics wrong once again.

The United skipper traveled to the Championship amid criticism that he hasn't performed enough during the season to merit a place in the England starting eleven.

Hopefully, Rooney will start next season with performances like this.

Keep it up Wayne.

England need draw in final game to qualify while  Wales need win to be sure.

  1. I wonder if Rooney could perform judt a half of what Poyet is doing what could these analysts say. Rooney is so average player in fact his being in the team is spoiling England results.
