Michael Carrick may be on the verge of leaving United. The midfielder's current contract expires in the summer and United are yet to open talks about a new deal with the England international.
As it stands now, the player is free to negotiate a pre contract with other clubs. As his official contract with United expires in five months time. This will alert a lot of Premier League clubs.
The 34 year old joined United from Tottenham ten (10) seasons ago, and has established himself as one of the most respected figures currently at Old Trafford.
It is left to see how Van Gaal and the board handles the issue. But letting an experience player like Carrick leave will wouldn't be too good. The player will also most likely attract interest from the MLS in America.
