Manchester United are close to completing the signing of Mainz striker Yoshinori Muto (Also known as Japanese Messi), according to The Mirror.
The Japanese has been impressive so far for his German club, Mainz in the Bundesliga, and has scored seven goals in 18 games this season.
United have reportedly submitted a £12m bid for the player, his club Mainz are reluctant to sell, but are close to accepting the offer.
United see the player as a replacement for Southampton's Mane who may not be available until summer.
