The United gaffer have given two reasons why United fans should be happy.
United won their second game of the year against Sheffield United with a late penalty, that qualified the team for the fourth round of the F.A cup. And the Dutchman thinks United fans should be happy.
Speaking ahead of the Newcastle match he declared a must win, Van Gaal said:
"You have to be happy as a Manchester United fan that we are in next round and we have won the last two games."
United have been unconvincing in the two games, and Van Gaal himself has admitted that his United side can be boring at times.
