Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has moved on from the heartbreaking 3-3 draw win Newcastle, and has set his sights on a victory at Anfield.
United travel to face arch rivals Liverpool on Sunday in a match that could decide Van Gaal's fate as United boss.
Speaking of the disappointing draw with Newcastle, he said:
"We're disappointed because we led 2-0 and, after that, we had chances to close the game.
"But this is football and sometimes in 90 minute, even in the last minute, they can score so now we are talking about a draw and not a win."
He has since shifted his focus to the Liverpool clash.
"It's a big match against Liverpool this weekend.
We'll try to be ready for that game and now we have to focus on this challenge and that's all. Obviously, we want to win."
The Italian is also hoping skipper Wayne Rooney will continue with his goal scoring form.
"He is a great striker and the goals speak for him, "I hope it continues like this.''
