Liverpool 0 - 1 Manchester United: Post match players reactions

Manchester United got a rough but important victory against the Reds. With no goal attempt in first half, and the only goal Coming with United's only goal of the game, it was a victory that will sure divide the United fans.

While some are joyous that the team got the three points against their arch rivals, some are unhappy with the overall performance and manner of victory.

Wayne rooney got the only goal, a record goal for him. He  has now scored more goals for a single Premier League club than any other player (176). And he needs just 9 goals to become Manchester United's  all-time leading goal scorer. His goal was also his first at Anfield in a long time speaking after the match, the United skipper, said he enjoyed the moment.

"The record is great, I scored a goal and it's been a long time since it's happened at Anfield, I'll enjoy that one.

"I am being a bit selfish tonight. I enjoyed that goal more than most."

The striker also thinks the three points is all that matters, and not the matter of the victory.

"Everyone knows the importance of winning this game, it's a massive game for both clubs. We needed the points."

Rooney also thinks the injured United players in the stands enjoyed the match than their teammates on the field.

Rooney on Jones/Carrick/Rojo: "The injured lads in the crowd probably enjoyed that more than us in that atmosphere."

De Gea also thinks Rooney's goal was all the difference. The United goalkeeper had made some vital saves before the goal came.

"They had good chances and after Wayne scored a fantastic goal we managed to beat them. I hope we get the confidence to win."
