Exclusive: Manchester United to rival City for Brazilian star: United currently ahead

Both Manchester clubs could go into a bidding battle for Barcelona forward Neymar, according to Gazzetta World.

According to reports, the Brazilian is currently happy in Barcelona, but unhappy that he is not the focal point of the team, and may want to move to a team where everything revolves around him. Lionel Messi is the king at Barcelona, both on the pitch and on the wage role, and this may remain like this for the next three years.

Manchester United are reported to have been in constant touch with his father, and make promises of breaking the world transfer record and wage record for the Barcelona star.

United have been in contact with his father since last December, intensified their efforts in the last weeks, and are willing to do anything possible to bring him to the Theatre of Dreams including doubling his current wages.

Manchester City are behind in the chase, but have also met with his father, and are wiling to match any offer the Brazilian wants.

Pep Guardiola could also act as a catalyst for the deal, but he currently can't as he has not yet to officially commit to City.
