The Manchester United manager has described his first United signing as a young defender with great natural talent who can metamorphose into one the the best defenders in the world.
The 22 year old joins United from Villarreal for a fee in the region of £30m. Bailly joined Villarreal from Espanyol in January 2015, and has made 47 appearances for the Yellow Submarines.
Mourinho commenting on the player said:
"Eric is a young central defender with great natural talent. He has progressed well to date and has the potential to become one of the best around.
"We look forward to working with him to help nurture that raw talent and fulfil his potential. Eric is at the right club to continue his development."
