Wayne Rooney denies player revolt at Euro's

The England captain has denied claims that some players were not fully happy with some decisions taken by the coaching crew at the competition.

There had been speculations of slight discomfort within the team as to the managers selections and tactics.

Rooney has however rebuffed such claims.

"In response to the recent media reports, (that some players were not happy with some managerial decisions during the tournament)  I'd like to say that  completely untrue," Rooney said.

"On behalf of the players, we completely supported the England manager but we understand his reasons for stepping down.

"We had absolute faith in the build-up and throughout the tournament."

The England manager and his back room staffs stepped down after the embarrassing 2-1 defeat to Iceland, that knocked the Three Lions out if the competition.
