German club close to signing Manchester United target : Deal agreed

Manchester United may have lost out in the race to sign Swiss sensation Embolo, as the player has reportedly agreed a move to German side Schalke 04 with his medicals due soon.

United were thought to be leading the race to sign the 19 year old, after another German side Leipzig officially ended their pursuit of the young forward. 

According to Sky Sports reporter Gianluca Di Marzio, a deal to Schalke has been agreed.

He tweeted this:

This was seconded by another Sky Sports reporter Fabrizio Romano who further stated that United held talks with the player's agent, but Schakle held talks with FC Basel. He tweeted this:

" Man Utd had talks just with Embolo agent. Schalke04 reached an agreement with Basel and with Embolo too: done deal! Medicals soon #transfers

However according to German media outlet Bild, his move to Germany may have been influenced by his mum.

“His mother has yet to be convinced. She is enthusiastic about the Bundesliga, because her son would be easy to reach,” Bild wrote.
