Manchester United have completed and confirmed the transfer of defender Eric Bailly from Villarreal.
United have been closely linked with the 22 year old. Report emerged over the weekend that the discussion were ongoing, and that a move was close.
The player had his Old Trafford medicals on Tuesday and the transfer was confirmed the next day.
The official statement from United read thus:
"Manchester United is delighted to announce that Eric Bertrand Bailly has completed his transfer from Villarreal CF, subject to successfully obtaining a work permit. Eric joins on a four-year contract with the option to extend for a further two years."
The Ivorian becomes Mourinho first signing at United.
