The Manchester United defender has had a tough personal European Championship so far.
Despite the Italians perfect record of two wins in the Championship, Darmian may not have done enough to convince Italy coach Conte to be a continued starter in the team.
He was substituted in the first match against Belgium and was dropped from the starting eleven against Sweden.
"It is human to make mistakes," He said referring to his error that allowed a counter attack in the game against Belgium, that most likely cost him his place in the Sweden game.
"But there is always a teammate that has your back, just like other times when I’ve been able to cover theirs.
"We know we [Italy] have less quality and will have to compensate with determination and team spirit, but we were criticised in an exaggerated way. So we plugged our ears and we continued to work with intensity, as called for by Conte."
The United defender will be hoping to start against Ireland, as he believes everyone in the current Italian team to the Championship can start at anytime.
"Here there are no first and second lineups.
"I think that’s the real strength of this team. We all feel involved and whoever plays will give their all to win. We will try to win again, just as we did in the first two games.''
