In the early hours of this morning, Britain voted to leave the European Union, after a referendum, saw the Brexit won with 52% of the total votes compared to the 48% of the Bremain.
Though it will take about two years for the full effects of the referendum results to be effected if followed up, it may mean a change in laws for other Europeans coming into the United Kingdom.
Research has shown that a number of Premier League top stars would have been affected had the U.K pulled out of the European Union sometime ago.
Top Premier League stars like Anthony Martial, N'golo Kante and Dimitri Payet would not have been able to play in England as at the time they made their moves.
From a Manchester United perspective, players like Anthony Martial, Under Herrera, Adnan Januzaj, David de Gea, Morgan Schneiderlin and Timothy Fosu-Mensah would not have been allowed to play for United.
As it stands players from countries within the European Union can work in Britain without a work permit, but that may soon change as according to immigration rules via Sky Sports:
Europeans could now be subject to the same immigration rules as non-EU players, under which a player from a top-10 nation has to have played in 30 per cent of their games in the two years prior to the date of application to be granted a work permit, while
A player from a nation ranked 11-20 must have played in 45 per cent of international games and that percentage rises to 60 per cent for the next 10 countries, then 75 per cent for nations ranked 31-50 in the FIFA ranking.
A lot will though still depend on the kind of deal the UK agrees with the EU after exit.
