Manchester United fear Marcus Rashford will suffer burnout if he doesn't have enough rest ahead of next season.
The 18 year old has enjoyed a meteoric rise since making his debut for United in February.
Van Gaal only rested the player for one match since then, as he played a vital role in United's FA Cup triumph.
He has since joined up with the national team, made his debut- a goal scoring one, named in the England squad for the European Championship and made his competitive debut in the 2-1 win over Wales.
Depending on how long England stays in the competition, Rashford will be pushing for more playing time in the team.
With the new season less than two months away, United are likely to put him on a tailored pre-season to make sure he does not break down later in the season. This according to The Sun.
The player will need good rest time after the Euro's and it will be wise for him to be given extended time off ahead of the new season.
With United about to complete the signing of Ibrahimovic, Rashford will be able to get more rest time.
