The Spanish club have reportedly offered Manchester United their long term target, James Rodriguez.
The Colombian international has become a peripheral figure in the first team since Zidane took over. He maybe set for further competition for starting place if Real signs former United midfielder Paul Pogba.
Madrid are reportedly keen on the Frenchman, and may have to sell to afford the Juventus midfielder, who may cost up to €120m.
According to the Mirror, Real have offered the player to United, with a transfer fee demand of £50m.
Earlier reports had already claimed the 24 year old was scouting for a new house in Manchester, while he's put his apartment in Madrid up for rent.
The player shares the same agent with Mourinho which could aid a move.
