Manchester United are preparing a club record bid of £94.5m for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale, according to Spanish outfit El Confidencial.
According to the report, José Mourinho wants to make Bale the marquee signing of his debut season at Old Trafford.
Bale is reportedly considering a return to England, and Real Madrid may have to sell one of their stars to fund a move for another key target in Paul Pogba.
Mourinho has already kicked of his transfers at United with the signing of Eric Bailly and offering new contracts to Michael Carrick, Rashford and Borthwick-Jackson.
United are also closing in on Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and a deal is expected to be announced next month.
