Manchester United eyeing Monaco star - Report

Manchester United have joined the race to sign AS Monaco defender Fabinho, according to reports.

The 22 year old Brazilian has attracted interest from Manchester City in the past.

But more recently Barcelona, Napoli and Manchester United are keeping tabs on the player, according to well respected transfer source Gianluca Di Marzio.

The versatile 22 year old can is a right back, but can also play as a defensive midfielder.

The player joined Monaco on loan in 2013 from Portuguese side Rio Ave and featured for two seasons before Monaco signed a permanently  for £4m in 2015.

He also has one cap for Real Madrid after featuring for Real Madrid Castilla on loan in 2012, and played his only game for the senior side in April 2013. He played for 14 minutes as a substitute and provided an assist for Angel di Maria in their 6–2 La Liga victory over Málaga at the Santiago Bernabéu.

He scored eight times for AS Monaco last season and a bid in the region of £20m should be secure his signature.
