Manchester United doing all they can to keep this star

Manchester United appear desperate to keep former assistant manager Ryan Giggs, and have reportedly offered him a blank cheque to chose whatever position he wants to fill within the about to be assembled José Mourinho setup except the position of the assistant manager.

The United legend joined the club as a schoolboy at in 1987, and rose to the position of an interim manager, and has been the assistant manager for the past three years, since the retirement of Sir Alex Ferguson.

He was believed to be in the running for who will replace Van Gaal, but the club opted for the 'Special One'.

Mourinho is reportedly coming to United with his long term assistant Rui Faria, that has worked with him almost everywhere.

Giggs was sacked as part of the Van Gaal backroom staff, and with his former position not available, the former Welsh winger is believed to be on his way out of the club.

In a desperate measure to retain Giggs, according to the Daily Mail, United have told Giggs to 'name his job’.

Giggs who is just back from a vacation bin Dubai is yet to respond to the offer.

It will be painful to see Giggs leave the club, but it won't be a bad move if he picks up a managerial job in another club. It would be be nice to see him on the touchline, setting out his team.
