FC Midtjylland shot stopper Mikkel Andersen won't forget Marcus Rashford in a hurry.
The goalkeeper was surprised to see an unknown teenager's name on the team list in the Europa League second leg tie between both sides but was shocked when the 18 year old making his debut netted a brace against him.
Rashford was told he would start minutes before kickoff, after Martial picked up a late injury in the warmup, but that was the day another star was born in Manchester.
Rashford had been playing for the U-18 and was hoping to break into the U-21 setup.
Since his goal scoring debut against Midtjylland, followed by a brace against Arsenal and a derby winning goal against Manchester City, Rashford has enjoyed a meteoric rise, and in four months has made his England debut and is with the squad in France for the Euro's
Andersen recounts that day:
"When I saw the name Rashford on the team-sheet, I was surprised as I never heard of him." He told L’Equipe via Inside Futbol.
"I thought, ‘they have put a kid up top against us"; well I soon realised he was not there by chance." He added.
At United, nothing happens by chance.
