Two reasons United must defeat West Brom

Manchester United will be hoping to continue their good form when they travel to the Hawthorns on Sunday.

With four wins in their last four games,  confidence is crawling back into the United camp, and this match is one that will test United's strength, will and desire.

United's three of the four victories have been at Old Trafford and a trip to West Brom is a huge test.

Redlyunited looks at two  reasons United can't afford to drop points this Sunday.

1.  Put pressure on top four

With two wins in their last two matches, United are now in touching distance with the top four teams.

Three points currently separate United and City, though the Citizens have a game in hand.

Arsenal in third currently lead United with five points, and with the Gunners facing London and title rivals Tottenham this weekend, the point difference between both team maybe reduced to one or two depending on the outcome of their match, but first, United must win.

2. To head into the Europa meeting with Liverpool with confidence:

United travel to Anfied on Thursday for the first leg of their Europa League match. Van Gaal hasn't lost to Liverpool since his arrival in England, and will be hoping he can continue his fine record against the Kops.

Anfield is not a place you go to without much confidence, and a good win against West Brom would be a good catalyst heading into such a match.
