The former United striker is not seeing any ray of improvement in the current United team, and thinks more trouble still lie ahead.
United were knocked out of the Europa League on Thursday and face City on Sunday in a must win match.
United are without a victory in their last four games, and their record of one win in their last five visit to the Etihad is not assuring.
Keane speaking ITV sports said:
“It is a huge game. United need a response. We’ve not being seeing that. We didn’t see it tonight. (referring to the 1-1 draw with Liverpool)
"There are troubled days ahead for United." He added.
A defeat to City will all end United's top four dreams, as the team currently lies on the sixth position behind City in fourth and West Ham in fifth.
A win over City will reduce the point difference between both Manchester teams to one, giving United hope of a catch up with eight games to go.
