Falcao opens up on his United move: 'I didn't get the opportunity I expected'

The Former Monaco striker has opened up on his stay at Old Trafford.

The player was one of the high profile names Van Gaal brought to Old Trafford to revive United's fortunes.

But it was never to be for the Uruguayan. He scored only four goals in twenty six appearances, and many consider his spell at the Theatre if dreams as a dry time.

The player himself has spoken on his stay at Manchester.

"It was complicated in Manchester.

"Everyone saw how there were situations which created instability, since I played on some days, not on others.'It was 60 minutes today, then 45, then 20.

That generates instability and sometimes you don't know where you stand or what the footballing preferences of the coach are. He told El Tiempo Via Daily Mail.

"It's been difficult. I had been used to playing regularly.

"After the knee surgery [at Monaco] I went to Manchester United, who were starting a new process after 25 years with the same coach, with a lot of new players and I did not have the opportunity I expected."

The player however has admitted that he doesn't have any personal grudges with Van Gaal.

When asked if he had personal issues with the Dutchman, he replied:

"No, not at all.

"Yes, we had the usual discussions of a football team, with the same arguments, but it was always with respect and at no moment was there any kind of problem."

The striker has since moved on to Chelsea but has also struggled for form and consistency at the Blues.

He has been unable to compete with Diego Costa for a starting place in the team, and manager Guss Hindink  brought in Brazilian striker Pato in the January transfer window despite his presence in the squad.
