Manchester City manager in waiting Pep Guardiola has been making enquiries to ascertain if José Mourinho would be his City rival at Manchester next season, according to Sun.
The duo were strong rivals in Spain, with Mourinho winning the Spanish league in Guardiola's last season as Barcelona manager.
Now, both men can continue their rivalry if Manchester United appoint the Portuguese as manager, as City have already confirmed Pep their next manager.
And Guardiola is already relishing the rivalry. According to his friend:
“Pep wants to know if Mourinho has an agreement with Manchester United.
"Is he worried? Not really, but it will make life interesting if Jose is there."
It would be great to see both men in the dugout during Manchester derbies, and fight for the league in England. All these depends solely on if the United board can appoint Mourinho.
