Howard Webb slams Maroune Fellaini for his over physicality against Liverpool

The former referee has questioned the Belgian style of play after his performance against Liverpool in the second leg of the Europa League match at Old Trafford.

United drew the game 1-1 on the night but lost 3-1 on aggregate, after losing 2-0, in the first leg at Anfield.

The midfielder was at the centre of a controversial incident in the first leg, but escaped sanctions.

In the second leg also, the player was typically rough,  getting a yellow card in the second half for elbowing Liverpool defender Lovren.

Webb who was a BT Sports pundit for the night criticised the player.

"There’s one thing imposing yourself physically on a game, but it’s another thing being a thug in the field. He said via Football Insider.

”What is it about Marouane Fellaini that he can’t play without throwing his arms into people’s faces?"

“Physicality is one thing, but to continually throw your arms into people’s faces? I think people are getting fed up with it." He added.

The Belgian has never been a huge favorite at Old Trafford, and it was a little surprising that he started the game.
