Van Gaal gets clear waring from club legend

Manchester United legend Bryan Robson has made it clear to Van Gaal that United must either make the top four or win the FA Cup for him to stand a chance  of surviving at Old Trafford.

United have been on a poor form almost throughout the season, and the Manchester Derby is United's make or break match as far as their top four hopes is concerned.

The team was knocked out by Liverpool from the Europa League on Thursday, after been outplayed on both legs.

The team also failed to defeat West Ham in the FA Cup at Old Trafford, - drawing the match which has promoted another replay at Upton Park.

The FA Cup remains United's only hope of winning a trophy this season, and Bryan Robson thinks the title draught at Old Trafford is beginning to last for too long.

"We have gone two years now where we haven’t won anything, and it would be a big disappointment if that was to continue.

"If United lose in the derby then fourth place and the Champions League have gone. And that means we would have to win the FA Cup.

"United need to win something this season." He told the Mirror.

"If you aren't winning things year in, year out then the pressure will always be on the manager of Manchester United." He said earlier.

United can close the gap on City to one point if they can win at the Etihad, while a City win will widen the points between both neighbours to seven points.

With eight games to go, and West Ham still in between the Manchester teams in fifth, United would have finally quenched their top four hopes.
