Schweinsteiger out for the season?

The midfielder suffered what looks like a reoccurrence of the injury he just recovered from.

He didn't train with the German squad earlier today and manager Joachim Löw  has confirmed that the injury is a bad one.

The player will be sent back to Manchester to continue his rehabilitation with support from the German medical team.

"Bastian Schweinsteiger has injured his medial collateral ligament, and is unavailable for both England and Italy,'' He told a press conference today. Via Mirror.

"It is the same injury that he suffered in England. It does not look very positive."

"He will receive further treatment at his club Manchester United in consultation with the medical department of the national team."

The German captain suffered  his last injury and returned in March. And with the season approaching crescendo, the midfielder may not be available for United this season.

Schweinsteiger has suffered a lot if injuries in the last three years, and that was what compelled Bayern let him join United.
