Sir Alex Ferguson could determine Van Gaal's fate

The former United manager according to report would have a big say in what becomes of the future of Van Gaal at Old Trafford.

The Scott, still widely respected by the owners, among the fans and board, have  been meeting with vice-chairman Ed Woodward and former chief executive David Gill over Van Gaal's future.

Van Gaal's future has been under intense scrutiny at United following a string of poor performance and results from his team, but the United owners seem to gave left the final decision about his future to  vice-chairman Ed Woodward and the board. But the chairman is relying much on the verdict of Sir Alex on the matter.

The United board seem to be in a race against time, as it is believed that José Mourinho may not last long in the job market before securing another job.

Van Gaal still have the slight backing of Sir Alex, who doesn't want United to turn into a sacking club, but is also a big friend and fan of Mourinho.

Do you think United should replace Van Gaal with Mourinho?
