Meet the two United players that made the Sky sports top 100 footballers for 2015

This week Skysports released a list of the top 100 footballers playing in the top five European leagues.

After every game, WhoScored.com gives players competing in Europe's top five leagues a mark out of 10 based on a wide range of statistical data. Each player then gets an average score for 2015, and to qualify for this countdown, players must have made at least 20 league appearances.

It's been a difficult end to the year and start to the season for Manchester United. This must have also lowered the ranking of the United players.

Two United players made the list, also a player that left United made the list.

Skysports Number: 76.

Morgan Schneiderlin: Southampton and Manchester United

Average rating: 7.360

The Frenchman joined United this season for £24m in July, and has gone on to establish himself as one of the most effective players in the United team.

After seven seasons at Southampton, he became on of the best defensive midfielders in the League, and has lived up to the billing at Old Trafford.


Skysports Number: 52

Chris Smalling : Manchester United

Average rating: 7.418

The Englishman is no doubt the most improved player in the United Squad.

According to Skysports, he is in the top three for clearances, blocks and interceptions per game for United this term. He is the spine of the United defence and one the main reason United defence being the best in the Premier League this season.

One former United player that also made the list is Angel Di Maria. The Argentine was ranked 65th on the list with an average of 7.391, he endured a tough last season at United but is enjoying his stay with the French champions PSG.
