Bayern Munich have confirmed that Carlo Ancelotti will be taking over from Pep Guardiola next season.
This appointment officially rules the Italian out of the running for the yet to be vacant United job.
United's 1-2 loss to Norwich over the weekend further increased pressure and the probability of sacking Louis Van Gaal.
A statement from the club official twitter handle read thus:
Breaking: #Guardiola to leave at the end of the season. His replacement will be Carlo #Ancelotti (56/Contract untl 2019). (@FCBayernEN) December 20 2015.
Guardiola will let the media into his plans for his future in the coming weeks, though a move to England is most likely with both Manchester teams and Chelsea in the picture.
Fans are still divided as to who they want to be the new United coach, but things will be clearer once Guardiola updates the media on his future.
