Arsene Wenger: Van Gaal deserves more time and respect

The gunners boss has criticized the way the media has been handling Van Gaal's pressure and case at United.

The United boss was wrongly reported to have been sacked, and replaced by Mourinho, when no official statement came from neither the club nor the Portuguese.

Speaking on the matter ahead of his weekend tie against Southampton
Wenger said:

"I think a lot has been made of it and there's no need for me to add to it. I don't want anyone to lose their job."

Wenger described the media handling of  the case as 'disrespectful' and says the Dutchman deserves more time.

"I have huge respect for Louis Van Gaal and what's going on there is disrespectful."

"This guy works in football for 30 years and delivers an unbelievable quality of work and it's disrespectful what's going on there."

"Of course he deserves more time."

It remains to be seen how much time the United board thinks Van Gaal deserves as his United side are without a win in their last six matches.

But one thing is sure, Van Gaal will still manage the side for the boxing day tie with Stoke.
