The Manchester United gaffer seems to understand fully the demands of the fans. Fans at Old Trafford this season have been distressed by the pattern of football, and have constantly chanted 'attack.. attack'.
The Dutchman believes United are attacking about 70% of the time and doubts if the team have the caliber of players that can play the long balls.
"Last season I said a lot of things about the fans and their support for us despite the results. But now the results are reasonable or may be very good and now there is sometimes they shout 'attack, attack, attack' but we are attacking 70 percent, because we have the ball."
"Maybe they want more long balls, more activity in the 18-yard box, yes that is possible. But I think we don't have the players to play with long balls. Then we have to play with Fellaini in a striker's position and he is not a typical striker."
This may come as a surprise to some fans, because the current United team have a lot of fast, creative players with pace.
