Reports emerged earlier in the day that the United board led by vice chairman Ed Woodward was having a crucial meeting in London concerning the future of the club.
However clearer reports after the meeting claims, the meeting was not about Van Gaal or his future.
Manchester Evening News is reporting that the meeting was business related and matters concerning Van Gaal was not discussed.
This would come as a relief to the under pressure United manager.
With this the Dutchman is expected to lead the team for it's boxing day clash with Stoke City, and all things being equal would host his press conference on Wednesday.
